Welcome to Firs Family Furniture! We specialise in upcycling unwanted local furniture, giving new life to pieces that deserve a second chance.

We believe that every piece of furniture has a story—and it’s our job to help continue that story.

Upcycling to us is a rescue mission. We love to repair and refinish vintage and antique furniture, giving old pieces a new lease of life. Our focus is on sustainability, craftsmanship and preserving the character that makes vintage furniture so special. Whether it’s a scratched-up cabinet or a forgotten table, we take pride in restoring it with care and respect. It sometimes means that we will add a splash of colour (but only if the piece of furniture requires it).

Furniture restoration all started as a passion project for our family. We can't stand throw-away culture! Firs Family Furniture prioritises solid wood and the idea that beautiful furniture shouldn’t end up in landfill.

 

Over time, this passion turned into a mission; to help people furnish their homes with pieces that really mean something to them. Now we have a shop of our own!

We specialise in sourcing and refinishing vintage furniture with a very special interest in mid-century pieces. We also offer repair and restoration services, and if you’re looking for something specific but can’t find it yourself, we’re happy to hunt it down and bring it back to life for you.

Our approach is simple: do things properly, use eco-friendly products wherever we can, save as many pieces of furniture from the landfill as we can, and make sure every piece we finish is something we’d be proud to have in our own homes.
